Estate Planning

Estate planning is important for anyone who wishes to control the transfer of their wealth. Once created, it is important to review and revise the estate plan every few years. Laws and circumstances change and an estate plan that is 15 years old may no longer meet your needs.

In my work as an estate planning attorney, I have spent more than 30 years keeping up with ever-changing estate planning laws and practices. My work has enabled me to help hundreds of people throughout Anne Arundel County, Maryland, including the people of Annapolis, Severna Park, and Edgewater.

If you meet with me to discuss estate planning, I will review your estate and any existing planning instruments. I will listen carefully to your wishes and then advise you of a variety of measures that best suit your situation.

Among the many options available are:

  • Avoiding estate tax by retitling assets and/or making charitable deductions

  • Planning for the distribution of a closely held business

  • Setting up a vehicle to take care of a disabled person

  • Health care directives: living wills, health care powers of attorney

Creating and revising an estate plan need not be an unpleasant process. For more than 30 years, I have been helping people realize their goals in comfortable, one-on-one consultations. I am not a high-pressure lawyer of the type you might expect in a mega-lawyer law firm. I work one-on-one with my clients and takes the time to get to know them well.

Please call me at (410) 573-2992 if you have any questions about my practice or about estate planning in general. You can also email me through my contact any time. I look forward to hearing from you.
